Trademarks in Ukraine should be renewed every 10 years starting from the original renewal date. At this time, the official renewal fee is 3000 UAH (125 USD). There is a grace period of 6 month to pay late renewal fee with 50% surcharge. 

Trademark rights in Ukraine may be transferred based on the assignment deed that would only be effective if recorded with the State Service of Intellectual Property of Ukraine. We provide our clients with proprietory bilingual assignment deed form that should be simply signed by the authorized representative of the client. We can also adopt existing assignment deed for recordal purposes in Ukraine. We prepare application for recordal materials that comprise simply signed Power of Attorney, executed bilingual assignment deed in triplicate as well as requisite recordation form. The official fee for recordal of the assignment is 800 UAH (60 USD)

One of our portfolio management goals is to keep State Trademark Register Records updated and accurate. We monitor changes across the portfolio for consistensy and current status. To records name or address change the owner is required to support the request for recordal of change with the extract from the state commercial register or restated certificate of incorporation and/or merger documents showing the change. It is importnat part of the practice to show authorization of the signatory to sign the assignment deed. Ukrainian Trademark Office requires direct authorization from the board to sign documents on behalf of the entity for the signatory to be approved as authorized.
